About the project

Self-initiated work exists to solve problems before a client needs them solved. This study was about dispersion: getting coloured fringing in faceted stones to behave the way it does under a jeweller's loupe rather than the way render engines default to.

Everything here is procedural. Cut, carat and setting are parameters, so a variant takes minutes instead of a rebuild.

Several of the shaders developed here went straight into client work.
